Vancouver Comicon Weekend!

Yours truly will be a special guest at this weekend's Vancouver Comic Con

We're kicking off the festivities Saturday night, with a Live Art Funk Jam featuring myself, Jim Mahfood, Troy Nixey & Tyler Jenkins painting to the sounds of DJ Mykro Douglas. Then, the convention is on Sunday, from 11am to 5pm at the Heritage Hall.

I'll be bringing an assortment of art prints, including selections from Alphabet Attack! Series 1 & 2. I'll also have 18 x 24" giclee prints of my Danger Mouse illustration, as well as my DOOMBOX and LIONSEATYOU limited edition sketchbooks.

And to top things off, I'll have copies of my Image Comics anthology, Slop: Analecta on hand. To celebrate restocking my inventory of this book, I'm customizing each one with an original drawing on the first page. So come get these hot tamales while they're... well, HOT!

I was last in lovely Vancouver back in 2011 for this same convention, and it was an absolute blast. So I'm stoked to return for another weekend of British Columbia-style hijinks!

Hope to see you there!

Nerd City Invades C2E2!

The fantastic fanatics of Nerd City are hosting yours truly & Jim Mahfood at this year's Chicago Comics & Entertainment Expo (C2E2). Mahfood & I are also performing in the live art/arcade after-party Nerd City is throwing, the Saturday night of the con. It's gonna be an insane weekend of comics, art, video games, toys, costumes and epic partying. TR!CKSTER & Comic-Con Are Upon Us!

Like a hailstorm of badgers, San Diego Convention Week has arrived! I'll be there with the rest of the freaks & yahoos, mingling with fans & colleagues, selling art & merch, and avoiding sleep like The Plague. But, unlike previous years, this time I will NOT be setting up at a table.

Comic-
Con Schedule
For anyone attending Comic-Con proper, you can catch me at the Oni Press booth at 12 noon on Sunday, July 24. I'll be one of the many artists signing during their Kids Day "Yo, Gabba Gabba!" Blowout! www.comic-con.org, www.onipress.com

TR!CKSTER Plans
If you're in town for the Con, you'd be crazy not to check out Tr!ckster, the simultaneous, creator-owned con that's happening across the street. I'll have merch available in their retail space, including the brand new art book WRECKING SKULL and the Puffed TPB. And I'm exhibiting several original works in their gallery. I'll also be on hand at Tr!ckster off and on, in case I'm needed for any live art or symposiums. www.trickstertrickster.com

Guerrilla Art Strikes
Since we'll both be free from the confines of a booth, longtime colleague Jim Mahfood & I have decided to rock Guerrilla Art Strikes during this fine Con Week. We'll be setting up renegade "studios" from Wednesday through Sunday, on a bar patio, by a hotel swimming pool... or maybe even on the bed in your hotel suite!

Jim and I will post our Guerrilla schedule (time, place, etc), between the morning and early afternoon of each day. Fans & collectors are welcome to show up and commission drawings from us, discuss our creative process, buy us drinks, propose marriage, etc.

Keep up on our exploits via the usual social networking suspects:

Live Art in Texas This Weekend!

(fliers designed by Henry Quiara)

The Silky Bureaucrats ride again, as Jim Mahfood (aka Food One) and I take our live painting act to sunny San Antonio, TX!

The creative forces behind SA's critically acclaimed ARTSLAM have invited us to participate in their 5 Year Anniversary event on Saturday, January 29th. We'll be working alongside a talented platoon of local artists, all cranking out original paintings and drawings right before your very eyes. And all to the thumping sounds of incredibly funky DJ acts!

If you're in the San Antonio area this weekend, don't miss out on the action. Between the musical lineup, the live painting roster and the anniversary-bash-mojo that's sure to be flowing, this is shaping up to be one hell of a good night!
