Quien era el mas poderoso?

Hello All!

Here I sit, in the funk den of Food One, rocking The Mars Volta on my headphones, and trying to shake off my Pledge Party hangover. Last night was amazing. Many thanks to everyone who was involved, from the organizers to the fans.

For you kids that couldn't make it, a bunch of people (myself and Mahfood included) took oodles of photos throughout the night. So I'll be sure to post pics from the event on here when I get back to San Frandisco.

In the meantime, I'm off to hunt down some coffee... maybe a nice bearclaw.

Bunker, on the road.

ps-- All done with The Mars Volta... just moved on to the new Subtle album. Incredible stuff, people.

As it turns out, I'm going to be showing art and painting live at a Juxtapoz release party in San Francisco, on June 14th. I'll post more info about that ASAP. Awww yeah!

Sorry for the sick drought!

Hey friends and neighbors!

Just wanted to apologize for the lack of posts, lately. I was terribly sick, last week. Like, shivering-under-blankets and barely-able-to-walk sick. I'm better now, and am hauling ass to catch up on work. Check out the flyer for one of my latest developments, a new solo show called "Pick Up The Pieces." Yowza!

Everybody's DEAD out today! Crosland and Lynch on Fanboy Radio!

EVERYBODY'S DEAD OUT TODAY!!!
The first issue of my latest comic project, "Everybody's DEAD," had its release date moved up to TODAY, March 19th! This is some of my proudest sequential work since I stumbled into this zany comics industry. It's got misfit fratboys, a Halloween kegger, a brawl, and (of course) zombies. And that's just the first issue. It only gets nuttier from there! Look for it at fine comic shops in your town.

CROSLAND AND BRIAN LYNCH ON TODAY'S EPISODE OF FANBOY RADIO!!!
The writer of "Everybody's DEAD," Brian Lynch, and myself will be interviewed LIVE on Fanboy Radio, today! Tune in as host Scott Hinze gets us talking about the book, upcoming release parties, and cooking tips. You can stream the show online, today, at 11am PST (2pm EST) right from their website -- www.fanboyradio.com.

Yippee-kayay!

Pledge Party in LA!!!

Hey, after a week of hardly posting, I thought the least I could do was hit you fine folks with 3 posts in one morning.

For anyone who'll be in the Los Angeles/SoCal area at the end of March, we're throwing a badass Pledge Party at Meltdown, to celebrate the release of "Everybody's DEAD" (IDW Publishing) and "Hazed" (Image Comics). It's all going down on March 29th @ Meltdown Comics in Hollywood. Come meet the creators from both books, watch myself and Jim "Food One" Mahfood do live art while DJ Expo rips it up on the turntables. And, of course, get your drink on with delicious Japanese beers from our wonderful sponsors, Asahi!

You'll get extra cool points if you come dressed as a frat boy or sorority girl!

Bunker to the bone!

Buddy's Bag Commission

Check this! My friend, Danny, just hired me to do an original design on his Chrome messenger bag. The bag, itself, is one hell of a piece. My drawing on it will start with a cityscape that goes clear across the leathery, yellow portion of the front flap. In the center, though, my design will rise up onto the brown, canvas part of the flap, as the sprawling cityscape transforms into larger than life robots with human faces... more of my Iron God characters.

Above is a photo of the bag, along with my sketch for the art. Enjoy!

Everybody's DEAD # 5 cover!

This is the cover for the fifth issue... the big ol' zombie BLOWOUT issue. And, oh man, this one kicked my ass! It took forever for me to finally get the drawing right (or, I should say, just the way I wanted it). But I think the time and effort paid off. I'm really looking forward to seeing how Len O'Grady colors this one.

Boosh!

Everybody's DEAD 3 -- DONE!

This Saturday, I put the kibosh on the third issue (of 5) of "Everybody's DEAD". Like a sequential Hattori Hanso, I can tell you -- with no ego -- that this is my finest comic work. This issue has everything... zombies, fisticuffs, a muscle car, and explosions!

To celebrate, I transformed into King Gum, got psyched up with some face-to-face mirror fighting, and performed The Dance of The Hawk with Yoshimi the Dog. So fabulous.

Uncircumcised Pages!

I draw my comic pages a bit larger than the printed size and (most times) beyond the dimensions of the final comic page. It's a practice I picked up in college, because drawing "all the way" keeps my work fluid and unrestricted. I'll break borders or eliminate them altogether. I'll go way past full bleed. What can I say? I'm an "outside the margins" kinda guy.

But, for all that, once a page is finished, I always cut the oringinal down to a standard size. Well, not any more! I'm tired of hearing my children cry when I put 'em under the knife, and sick of losing art I spent time on, just because it went past an imaginary border. From now on, if a page breaks the borders, I'm keeping the original piece of art raw and uncut! Just check out the example above!

Speaking of that page, DAMN! What kind of ridiculous hijinks are the Beta Eta Delta kids from Everybody's DEAD getting into NOW!?!

King Gum!

I've been developing a new art persona, called "King Gum," thanks to oodles of drunken, late night phone calls from my boys, Food One and Bill Shag. Dig some of the sketches I've come up with below.

Oh, and I've also started work on a series of nudes. This is groundwork for a concept I'm building that relates to young, hip America's obsession with objects. For now, though, I'll just show you this one colorful nude below.

That's it from the belly of the beast. I'm off to knock out the ending of Everybody's DEAD 3!

Love Bunker, over and out.

Prints for Sale Online!

Now that the smoke has cleared from Wondercon and a quick trip to Los Angeles, I'm back in the studio! I'm hauling ass to finish issue 3 of "Everybody's DEAD" this week. Expect some pics from that triumphant ending this weekend.

In the meantime, I thought I'd let you all know that I'm making the limited edition prints I had at Wondercon available in my online store, The Meatshop. For all the pricing and ordering info, just hit up that link.

And keep your eyes peeled here. I'll have some new sketches from my new persona, King Gum, posted here this week.

For now, it's back to the funnybooks.
