Commissions: CONQUERED!
In a recent burst of "Stop Being A Slacker" fury, I finally tackled some long-overdue commissioned works. It involved a lot of Taz-esque spinning in a tornado around my studio. The cyclone started Saturday afternoon, and ended on Sunday morning. By the time the debris settled, I had churned out four new pieces. Whew!
I'm super happy with how these came out, especially since I got to employ some of the techniques I've picked up in my fine art works. To the folks who these belong to, I'll be contacting you soon, regarding shipping arrangements. To everyone, hope you enjoy 'em!

In The Werks

Hey out there! Here's the next step of my latest commissioned piece, "Futhermore." By this stage, I've started laying in solid color ideas in acrylics and colored pencil. From here, it's all about pulling back and forth on the balance between light and dark.

New Commission in the Werks!

This is an early stage of a commissioned piece I'm creating for a collector in San Francisco. Fun times with violence, nudity, and heavy machines!

Sweet Revenge - The Color Final!

So I just put the kibosh on an illustration for baking website that's set to launch next month. Sexy ladies, suggested violence and oversized desserts -- totally up my alley, right? RIGHT!
Even more exciting, for me, is the fact that this is the inaugural illustration to be birthed from the surface of my laser-pad (aka, my Wacom tablet)! I haven't used one of these things in nearly a decade, so there was definitely a re-learning curve. But, hot damn -- once I got back into the swing of drawing and painting on a monitor, I was trippin' at the disco! So. Much. FUN!
I can't wait to see what having Mr. Lazer (yeah, I've named my Wacom tablet) in my arsenal is going to do for my art from here on out. *rubbing hands together, diabolically*

Crosland + Artsprojekt = HELL YES!
Andy Howell and the amazing folks behind Artsprojekt and Zazzle.com invited me out to the Thread show in San Francisco, this weekend. It was an amazing gathering of fashion designers, artists, and creative enthusiasts. The Artsprojekt booth was a massive combination of all that stuff, complete with art prints, apparel, assorted merch, and original artwork. They also had live art going on all weekend long. On Sunday, I rolled through and knocked out the beastly piece up above. Rawr!
To see lots more photos from the weekend, peep the Artsprojekt blog, The Projekt. Enjoy!
