King Gum Comic!

I'm ecstatic to say that, after years of toiling on work-for-hire jobs, I've found myself in a position to focus more on creator-owned projects. The first one I've completed is an 8-page comic titled, "In The Clutches of The Derby Queen!" This short story features my alter ego, King Gum, in the days before he won his crown. On this adventure, he's been taken prisoner by a race of deadly Derby Girls. The only way for Young Gum to win his freedom is by defeating their brutally beautiful Queen in all-out combat!

This comic will appear in the next volume of Titmouse Inc's MOOK comics anthology (release date TBD), so I can't show too much online. But finishing this piece has rekindled my love for making comics. I've already begun work on a handful of other sequential stories, so there'll be lots to look forward to in 2013. This is just the tip of the iceberg!

Scrap Card Sketches

I recently came upon a mountain-sized windfall of scrap note cards at a friendly neighborhood stationary shop. The cards are in two sizes, with the larger ones measuring at 7" x 8.5" and the smaller ones at 4.5" x 5.75". They're a manila card stock, in an odd sort of "flesh" color.

And most importantly, they're just about the perfect scrap cards for sketches, doodles, and randomness.

So I've decided to post said randomness here, whenever it should strike. Stay tuned!

King Gum!

I've been developing a new art persona, called "King Gum," thanks to oodles of drunken, late night phone calls from my boys, Food One and Bill Shag. Dig some of the sketches I've come up with below.

Oh, and I've also started work on a series of nudes. This is groundwork for a concept I'm building that relates to young, hip America's obsession with objects. For now, though, I'll just show you this one colorful nude below.

That's it from the belly of the beast. I'm off to knock out the ending of Everybody's DEAD 3!

Love Bunker, over and out.
