Live Art in Texas This Weekend!
The Silky Bureaucrats ride again, as Jim Mahfood (aka Food One) and I take our live painting act to sunny San Antonio, TX!
The creative forces behind SA's critically acclaimed ARTSLAM have invited us to participate in their 5 Year Anniversary event on Saturday, January 29th. We'll be working alongside a talented platoon of local artists, all cranking out original paintings and drawings right before your very eyes. And all to the thumping sounds of incredibly funky DJ acts!
If you're in the San Antonio area this weekend, don't miss out on the action. Between the musical lineup, the live painting roster and the anniversary-bash-mojo that's sure to be flowing, this is shaping up to be one hell of a good night!

Since we're both on a constant mission to bring you the freshest in freshness, Jim Mahfood (aka Food One) and I have joined forces to rock a brand new collaborative art print.
Aptly titled "Booty & The Beast," this limited edition giclee will be premiering at the New York Comic Con, in two weeks. Food One and I are doing a super-limited run of these, so don't sleep. We're currently accepting pre-orders for all you early birds and those who won't be attending NYCC.

After nearly 5 years away, yours truly is finally returning to Chicago, the city that launched my comics career! I'll be setting up this weekend (Fri, Sat & Sun) at the Chicago Comics & Entertainment Expo, in Artists Alley with Jim "Food One" Mahfood. Come visit us at table #11D, where we'll be slinging books, original art, and commissioned drawings & paintings!

Sweet Revenge!

It's been a strange, gnarled day of me battling my printer, getting attacked by a cat, and listening to incredibly loud music. If you haven't checked it out, yet -- or even if you HAVE -- you gotta dig on my friends' Jane Dope and Food One's BEAT BEE SESSIONS. Volumes 1 and 2 are online now, and are about the most incredible music mixes I've heard in years. So badass and funky... so righteous and raw.
I finally had to give up on the HP beast, and heed the call of the freelance hammer. The pics above are the linework and color study of a website illustration I'm doing for a delightful independent baker, starting up her own business. Yum!

ps-- Okay... I'm actually black all over :)

APE Live Art Flyer and Smoker!
Dig it, kiddies! Here's the black & white version of my flyer for our upcoming APE Live Art Party, along with a "Smoker Study" that's soon-to-become a new Hiredmeat/Deadbeatsister (DeadMeat) apparel design. Rawr!

I'll have the flyer colored and disseminated online in a couple days. Jim Mahfood has also done a design, with colors by Justin Stewart. We'll have printed postcards with both our pieces in the next week, just in time to blast SF with word of the event. If you're in The Bay Area during APE (The Alternative Press Expo) weekend, you should come join us. It's gonna be a night of visual, musical ecstacy!
